NPCA Introduces Exciting Interactive Online Career Center

The National Peace Corps Association now has an online, interactive career center and virtual community, for the 170,000 people who have served in the Peace Corps as volunteers and staff!

Visit http://www.rpcv.org/careers to access a wide variety of resources to help you with your job search or career planning. And since it's an online community, you can put in your two cents just about everywhere!

This site contains:

" An online job board and resume database. You can find jobs posted by recruiters looking to tap volunteers' skills and experience, and post your resume so employers can find you before they post their jobs. Or if you are an employer looking to hire RPCVs, advertise your jobs here.

" Career articles, written by professional career counselors and recruiters, specifically for the Peace Corps community!

" A calendar of career events. RPCVs anywhere can post important career-related goings-on.

" Hundreds of Web links, which you can add to and comment on. Gone are the days where lists of anonymous-sounding websites lead you astray and waste your time without providing any useful information.

" If you prefer your resources the "old fashioned" printed-paper-you-can-hold-in-your-hand-and-know-it's-real way, you'll find an extensive list of print publications to suit your career planning needs.

" A discussion board: Don't see anything on the site that suits your need? Post a question! RPCVs have served in over 137 countries across the globe -- why not ask those who've "been there and done that?" These are categorized by topic.

Forum topics are always changing. Right now: Have you ever had an interview disaster? Share your story of an interview disaster and receive a free G-Mail account.

We invite you to try out the site at http://www.rpcv.org/careers and let us know what you think! You can can send us your feedback at mailto:careers@rpcv.org.

Then read the "RPCVs for Kerry" statement of support and statements by Dr. Robert Pastor, Ambassador Parker Borg, and Paul Oostburg Sanz made at the "RPCVs for Kerry" Press Conference.

Take our poll and tell us what you are doing to support your candidate.

Finally read our wrap-up of the eight RPCVs in Senate and House races around the country and where the candidates are in their races.
