Michelle Miller has been serving in Cahul, Moldova as a community development Peace Corps volunteer
Miller's work involved teaching HIV/AIDS prevention and care classes, and directing an educational camp for women called TARE. Some of the most interesting experiences she had was participating in Women's Week for Cahul, as well as TARE empowerment seminar series. "I was able to empower and motivate youth and women in the south of Moldova to make a difference in their communities," said Miller.

Freehold woman ends Peace Corps duty
Michelle Miller, 28, of Freehold Township, has completed her service in the Peace Corps and has returned home to the United States.
For over two years, Miller has been serving in Cahul, Moldova as a community development Peace Corps volunteer. Miller's work involved teaching HIV/AIDS prevention and care classes, and directing an educational camp for women called TARE.
Some of the most interesting experiences she had was participating in Women's Week for Cahul, as well as TARE empowerment seminar series.
"I was able to empower and motivate youth and women in the south of Moldova to make a difference in their communities," said Miller.
After taking some time to readjust to life back in the United States, Miller intends to attend graduate school.
Miller graduated from Connecticut College in New London, Conn., earning a Bachelor of Arts in government in 2002. Prior to joining the Peace Corps, Miller was a legal recruitment assistant manager for Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton, and Garrison, LLP.
Miller was one of the 190 New Jersey residents currently serving in the Peace Corps. More than 4,405 New Jersey residents have served in the Peace Corps since 1961.
