Uganda RPCV Rev. Jana Rae Reister has been appointed Knox Presbyterian Church's associate pastor
Reister, who grew up on a farm in Western Michigan, used her agricultural background to develop programs to increase crop yield, farmer incomes and rural women workers in Uganda, where she served. Upon completion of her service in the Peace Corps, Reister served as executive director of the Professional Women's Fellowship before entering Princeton Theological Seminary in 2004. It was there that she served on international missions trips to Peru, Belize and Guatamala.

Knox Presbyterian Church appoints new associate pastor

Rev. Jana Rae Reister has joined the staff at Knox Presbyterian Church as an associate pastor.
Members of the Hyde Park church appointed Reister to the position on Aug. 30. She joins Pastor Thomas York, among other staff.
Reister completed her undergraduate work in psychology and sociology at Hope College in in 1988. She worked in the Seattle-area financial industry for seven years before joining the Peace Corps.
Reister, who grew up on a farm in Western Michigan, used her agricultural background to develop programs to increase crop yield, farmer incomes and rural women workers in Uganda, where she served.
Upon completion of her service in the Peace Corps, Reister served as executive director of the Professional Women's Fellowship before entering Princeton Theological Seminary in 2004. It was there that she served on international missions trips to Peru, Belize and Guatamala.
Reister's efforts earned her the seminary's Bryant M. Kirkland prize for Excellence in Practical Theology and Graduate Study Fellowship for Parish Pulpit Ministry.
Upon graduation, Reister was selected for the Lilly Residency at First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor, Mich., where she was ordained.
