Chile RPCV Juana Bordas will discuss "Igniting the Inner Leader" at Leadership Wabash Valley's Edibles and Ideas event
She founded Mestiza Leadership International in 1995, which specializes in training and developing a work environment that encourages diversity and effective leadership. Bordas was the first Latina faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership as well as the founding president and CEO of the National Hispana Leadership Institute. While a Peace Corps volunteer, she worked with low-income women in Chile. Her book "Salsa, Soul and Spirit" won The International Latino Book Award for the best business book in 2008, and is a contributing author to "Reflections on Leadership: How Robert K. Greenleaf's Theory of Servant-Leadership Influenced Today's Top Management Thinkers."

TERRE HAUTE - Juana Bordas will discuss "Igniting the Inner Leader" at Leadership Wabash Valley's Edibles and Ideas event at noon Tuesday in Cunningham Memorial Library's Events Area on the Indiana State University campus.
Lunch will be served and reservations are open to the public but must be made by Monday.
Bordas has dedicated her career to preparing Latino leaders in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.
Bordas states that leadership begins with committing to your own self-development. By modeling the way and setting a good example, leaders get others to follow course.

She is a member of the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame and was honored with Denver's 2008 Martin Luther King Jr. Social Responsibility Award.
