Ed Steele, who has been serving as a member of the city's Water and Sewer Task Force, was sworn in as Dunsmuir's newest city council member on July 1.
Steele has lived in Siskiyou County for 39 years and has been a Dunsmuir resident for over two years. He has owned multiple Dunsmuir properties since 1975.
During the election campaign, Steele said he would put his immediate focus, if elected, on addressing water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects.
Steele holds a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and currently works as a building remodeling contractor.
