Leaders of the Government met to sign an agreement between the National Director of Communitarian Development, Anabel Lang, and the ambassador of the United States, John Danilovich.

To fortify marginal and rural communities of the country is the goal of an agreement between the National Direction of Communitarian Development (Dinadeco) and the members of the Peace Corps, which will impel a series of projects of development in the zones.

Anabel Lang, Director of Dinadeco, commented that the agreement with the Peace Corps allows 21 volunteers to work with communities of lower income of the country. The volunteers are professionals in different fields who will work in the community and work in coordination with other institutions.

"This will allow them to collaborate with the social projects that are being undertaken by the development associations in the zones of Guanacaste, Puntarenas and Limon", he said.

He added that the agreement signed yesterday with the participation of the ministers of Science and Technology, Brown Rogelio, and of Security, Rogelio Branches, is only the formal part of the commitment assumed by this group of young people, who work in a disinterested way, while taking the decision to leave the comfort of their homes for a period of two years to offer their contribution to the communities, emphasized Lang.

The ambassador of the United States, John Danilovich, said that, with the Peace,Corps, help and aid will be offered to Central American countries and this association will fulfill a series of goals in community level. "the advantage is that these professional young people will promote, through the development associations of the communities, social, economic and cultural projects for the inhabitants of the area, in coordination with the institutions, municipalities and other organisms public and private", he concluded.
