NPCA Welcomes Its First Associate Group!
NPCA is pleased to welcome The Committee for a Museum of the Peace Corps Experience as its very first Associate Group. Founded in 1999, the CMPCE believes that Peace Corps Volunteers’ rich understanding of world cultures can be harnessed to prepare engaging exhibits on a number of subjects such as farming, cooking and dining customs, education systems, economic challenges and opportunities, and the roles of women and children. The museum also will take on a major documentary role. Find out what CMPCE is doing and how you can get involved by visiting www.peacecorpsmuseum.org.
Associate Groups
An Associate Group is a group of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), former Peace Corps Staff, and/or friends of the Peace Corps that meets special criteria as defined by the board of the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA). This category was created to cover groups that are not geographic or country of service-based membership organizations. Associate groups share NPCA’s mission of advancing the third goal of the Peace Corps and often are engaged in specific projects toward this goal, such as the Committee for a Museum of the Peace Corps Experience. The NPCA and the associate groups, however, remain separate and do not share membership structure, dues, revenue, or governance structure. Click on a link below for more stories on PCOL
