Turkmen Language Learning Guide Available Now

nCa, Ashgabat, 20.10.2004 -- British embassy in Ashgabat unveiled Tuesday the Turkmen Language Learning Guide that has been compiled by Juleah Berliner and Kyle Dietrich, Peace Corps volunteers in Turkmenistan.

In a lively gathering at the residence of Paul Brummell, British envoy in Ashgabat, Berliner and Dietrich gave basic lessons in the Turkmen language and then conducted a word game which proved that you need certain degree of physical fitness to learn the Turkmen language.

British embassy in Ashgabat has financed the project that was about eleven months in the making and that draws from the efforts of earlier Peace Corps volunteers in Turkmenistan.

The 66-page guide is basically a key to fundamental Turkmen grammar and contains practical examples to explain the structure of the language.

Aman Allanurov, Tavus Chariyeva, Tachmirat Ishanguliyev, Bahar Metdiyeva, Zohra Ovezliyeva and Shanazar Shahberdiyev formed the support team to help Berliner and Dietrich produce the guide.
