Malawi RPCV Susanne Yarnall to be inducted into Keuka College Athletics Hall of Fame
Yarnall was a WAA officer and board member, participated in intramurals, "play days," the Point Neamo Water Ski Program, crew and swimming. She also was sports editor for the Keukonian, Keuka's student newspaper. With degrees from Keuka and the U of R, she taught fourth grade in the Brighton school district for 30 years and is currently a substitute teacher in Canandaigua. She also served a two-year stint in the Peace Corps, teaching in Malawi.

The Keuka College Athletics Hall of Fame will be inducting three new members next weekend, including a set of twins who live in Canandaigua.
Sisters Joanne LeRoy and Susanne Yarnall will be inducted on Sept. 19 along with Rochester resident Loreto Barbone, the most prolific goal scorer and point producer in the school's soccer history.
The trio will be honored as part of Family Weekend with a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Weed Physical Arts Center, home to the Hall of Fame. A reception will follow.
The newest inductees will bring membership in Keuka's Hall of Fame to 14.
Joanne Lusink LeRoy and Susanne Lusink Yarnall graduated from Keuka in 1967 in the years before Title IX and before Keuka had established an intercollegiate sports program for women.
LeRoy played basketball, tennis and along with her twin, started the swim team. Keuka's 100-yard freestyle relay team, which included the sisters, held the record at the old University of Rochester pool for many years. LeRoy also was a member of the Women's Athletic Association board,
organized a water carnival, participated in "play days" at area colleges and played intramurals.
She earned a degree in French from Keuka and a masters from Middlebury College, was a member of the foreign language faculty in the Greece, Pittsford, Penfield and Wayne school districts and is currently a foreign language substitute teacher in Pittsford.
She also has coached the Pittsford girls varsity golf team since 2000, compiling a 96-3-1 record with a state-record 53 consecutive wins.

The sisters also are two of the top golfers in the region. LeRoy has won club championships at Webster and CenterPointe, and captained the Women's Rochester District Golf Association Captain's Cup team. Yarnall won numerous club championship at CenterPointe and the senior club championship in 2007 and 2008. She has finished second in the WRDGA Senior Championship and New York State Senior Championship. She also has served as president, vice president and secretary of the WRDGA and has spent a good deal of time working with junior golfers.
Barbone, a Greece Athena graduate, is the Storm's all-time leading scorer, compiling 140 points on 58 goals and 24 assists.
