NAKOROVATU villagers held a Fruit and Water fun day at Wailevu West Primary School in Savusavu early this month to promote a healthy lifestyle in rural settings.
The event, based on the health campaign Bula 5:30, which encourage healthy eating habits and regular physical activity, attracted more than 100 people.
Nakorovatu medical officer Maybel Fong said the event was successful in informing people about non-communicable diseases.
"It is hoped that this program will serve as an example to other communities," she said.
"We hope to, through a combined effort, decrease non-communicable diseases over the years and make Fiji a healthier place to live."
