Six months of unemployment, and just received a good job offer. I will be the Managing Editor for the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, an employee of the University of Pennsylvania.

I miss the Bulgarian tradition of Baba Marta. On March 1, everyone exchanges "martenitsas" (bracelets/pins made of red and white string). You wear them until you see a stork. (Storks begin to arrive in Bulgaria in March.) Then you tie the martenitsa on a blossoming fruit tree or put it under a stone.
