tefl teacher in school number 47. taught from 5 years old to 17 year old students an average of 18 hours a week. trained russian teachers of english at the teachers retraining institute in khabarovsk.

after peace corps i lived in florida for 7 months before moving to nagoya, japan. once in nagoya, i began teaching english at a private english conversation school. after about a year, i became the manager of the school. in 1998, i married a japanese woman. we bought a condo in nagoya and proceeded to have three boys one after the other. now i am the proud father of a 1 1/2 year old, 2 1/2 year old and 4 year old. i stayed at the conversation school for three years before winning a job at a prestigious private boys school called nanzan. i am in the middle of my 3rd school year at nanzan. i am an english conversation teacher.

Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:

the peace corsp experience was very rewarding for me and changed the path of my life. i only hope i gave back to the russian people what they gave to me. if i had it to do again, i would do a few things differently. however, overall it was amazingly wonderful and i highly recommend it to any who consider it.

dont expect your old life to be waiting for you. you have just experienced a fullfilling life in a foreign country and those who were close to you befor may not understand what you went through. now is the next step on your path. draw from your inner strength that most likely helped you though some hard times in the country in which you served. a world of excitement awaits you. the withdrawal symptoms of ending your peace corps experience will pass. enjoy....
