Peace Corps Trainee "The Banana Diaries" in the Dominican Republic writes: The news from Honduras doesn’t sound good, which is discouraging–I might be back home in a couple weeks, who knows!
However, they reminded us that in the past there have been coups in Honduras and Peace Corps volunteers still stayed in the country. I am just going to take it day by day!

I am feeling much better about my language capabilities now (though it’s still not great…). It was really only the first day that was bad. After our language interview I was placed into the Intermediate Low class, which is what I hoped for. I only need to move up one level to Intermediate Mid in order to be sworn in as a volunteer.
The news from Honduras doesn’t sound good, which is discouraging–I might be back home in a couple weeks, who knows! However, they reminded us that in the past there have been coups in Honduras and Peace Corps volunteers still stayed in the country. I am just going to take it day by day!
