How did you get involved in the Peace Corps?
I finished my undergrad in anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania. I was not sure what to do next but wanted to go overseas. My professor suggested Peace Corps.
Tell me about your experience in the Peace Corps.
I was there for three and a half years. I arrived in the Republic of Kiribati, which is in the Pacific, north of Fiji, in November of 2000 and I left in January 2004. I worked with the World Health Organization. I helped villagers with health concerns and clinics. I started a women's center and youth organization.
What made you decide to go into modeling?
It was serendipity. I returned from the Peace Corps and wanted to do something for self improvement. I went to the John Robert Powers Modeling School. I went to the New York Model Association of International Models Conference. I was named Modeling Association of America International model of the year.
What are you plans for the future?
I want to finish my masters in public health. I would like to pursue a modeling career and see where that goes. I'm thinking about medical school

Friends of the Peace Corps 170,000 strong
170,000 is a very special number for the RPCV community - it's the number of Volunteers who have served in the Peace Corps since 1961. It's also a number that is very special to us because March is the first month since our founding in January, 2001 that our readership has exceeded 170,000. And while we know that not everyone who comes to this site is an RPCV, they are all "Friends of the Peace Corps." Thanks everybody for making PCOL your source of news for the Returned Volunteer community.
