Kote ou vle ale se la ou a rive
Wherever you want to go, it's there you'll go.
There are things beginning to pass and once again I find myself caught in the tide.
After three months in Haiti, I may be coming home to United States. After learning a new language and a new culture, I will have to return to familiar things. After struggling to adapt and adjust, I find myself unready to return to the United States.
Recent developments in Haiti have made Peace Corps HQ very nervous about keeping us in the country. [For more information, go to Kreyol.com] The recent wave of violence and kidnappings has put into question our safety as Volunteers in the countryside. Although much of this is occuring in Port-au-Prince, I think there is a fear that it will become widespread or somehow compromise our safety in Haiti. In addition to these fears, there is also the question of the timing of the violence, what role MINUSTAH will play in Haiti, and what may happen after elections if they occur.
The uncertainity and the fear is thick in the air.

| Friends of the Peace Corps 170,000 strong 170,000 is a very special number for the RPCV community - it's the number of Volunteers who have served in the Peace Corps since 1961. It's also a number that is very special to us because March is the first month since our founding in January, 2001 that our readership has exceeded 170,000. And while we know that not everyone who comes to this site is an RPCV, they are all "Friends of the Peace Corps." Thanks everybody for making PCOL your source of news for the Returned Volunteer community. |

This government is a bunch of hoodlums.
Now its much better, I doubt it.
There is chaos , no law and banditry happening now.
