New U.S. Ambassador Presents Credentials to President Lee
President Lee Myung-bak says approval of the Korea-U.S. free trade agreement will help the United States overcome its financial crisis.
The President was commenting after a ceremony where he received the credentials of Kathleen Stephens, the new U.S. Ambassador to Korea.
The President welcomed Ambassador Stephens, saying he has high expectations thanks to her deep understanding of Korean culture.
Ambassador Stephens is said to have spoken fluent Korean during parts of the meeting, saying she would do her best to strengthen the alliance between Korea and her country.
