Greetings:

I'm a software engineer who's thinking about joining the Peace Corps. So far my sources for info have been the official Web site and the book "So, You Want to Join the Peace Corps..." The book (written in 2000 and I'm sure things have changed somewhat since then) implies that PCVs are usually posted in small towns or villages. However the "Information Technology Work Area" on the Web site lists activities that would probably take place in at least mid-sized towns.

Are there any (R)PCVs out there who have worked on IT projects and can give a short description of what they did?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

I set up several computer centers and web cafe's.
I also helped to computerize the Ministry of Police from a paper based record system to a computerized database.
There is so much interest in computer teachers and help with local computer users that I truly think going in with an IT background is very useful.
I served in the south apcific.
